Next is the Doctor in Doctor Who, then Captain Jack Harkness. None of them are traditional Alpha Heroes.

In novels my favorite will always be Paul Atreides from Dune. He was a hero for his mind, vision, and charisma.

I've always loved the reluctant heroes. The smart, quiet ones that don't look like Fabio.AnnaM.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808733415551134993.post-71822425963105538442010-05-01T08:02:38.079-06:002010-05-01T08:02:38.079-06:00You've made Ethan sound fascinating Donna and ...You've made Ethan sound fascinating Donna and the fact that I have a story with a guy of the same name helps!! Mine is an FBI agent though.
I don't like heroes to be too alpha and aggressive or at a least not if they are matched with weak females. Always an interesting balance to strike.
Very interesting post!Barbara Elsborghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15825994197656747262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808733415551134993.post-58107846385299536082010-04-30T18:46:30.453-06:002010-04-30T18:46:30.453-06:00Superb post, Donna. Also not an admiral, captain, commander, Navy seal, pirate or super-being, just a guy trying to do his job--and what an incredible job he does as the hero, much like your Ethan.

I love a reluctant hero. Wish their were more of them.L. A. I think that might be why I've always been drawn to Sci-fi romance--more room for many different types of heroes.Charleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04976735269500745991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808733415551134993.post-78677016752758707632010-04-30T17:09:09.028-06:002010-04-30T17:09:09.028-06:00Donna, such a fine post. If you ask me who my favorite fictional hero is, that would be Daniel Jackson from SG1 hands down. Intelligent, glasses, sexy. Oh yes. I would be his heroine any day!

Your book and your hero sound wonderful. Good luck on your search.Kaye Manrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03639814610213100626noreply@blogger.com
