I think my problem ...Very thought provoking, Donna. I think my problem is that I keep setting more goals and more goals. I've always been one of those people who are never entirely satisfied with anything - not quite good enough. I blame my mother in a good and bad way for that. So - I always wanted to get a book published. Now I have. Now I'd like a book published by one of the big guys. It's a big goal and I'm fairly sure that if I did manage it, I'd find another hill to climb.Barbara Elsborghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15825994197656747262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808733415551134993.post-88075775823822218482010-10-04T10:05:44.612-06:002010-10-04T10:05:44.612-06:00Amen to that, Donna. For those of...Amen to that, Donna. ALL of that.

For those of us who are wired to write, not writing is not an option, dispite the rejections, the negative judges' comments or bad reviews, the failures...and sometimes even the wins and successes (which often strike terror into our hearts when we invariably ask, "But am I really good enough?")

I think the questioning and the self-doubt is all a part of the journey. In order to improve we have to question, and worry, and sometimes throw our hands up in the air and say, "What am I doing wrong? What do I need to improve?"

Reaching the top of the mountain wouldn't nearly be so gratifying if the path to the top was a four-lane highway instead of a rock wall. :)L. A.
