I quite liked the quirkiness of having the rock songs instead of medieval music, like Guardians of the Galaxy having the 70s music. I guess one benefit of having kids is seeing films like Megamind and How to Train your Dragon which I might not otherwise have seen. A lot of kids films have strong and deep themes that even adults can enjoy and appreciate.Pippa Jayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15146591827060731958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808733415551134993.post-13126154615739662092017-06-27T12:19:13.808-06:002017-06-27T12:19:13.808-06:00Pruning wouldn't have been enough for him to p...Pruning wouldn't have been enough for him to put the fence in that he wants. Two were leylandii, a coniferous tree that's caused numerous neighbour disputes across the UK as they get big incredibly fast. Another was something really thorny that was causing *us* issues our side so I can't say I was sorry to see that particular one go. No ancient trees. I remember liking the movie a lot, except for what I remember as a rock score (We Will Rock You, Low Rider, etc.) which just didn't seem to fit the tone or era of the story, at least for me. Others probably loved it for the same reason.

The only one I haven't seen is Megamind.L. A. Still, living in New Mexico, I cringe anytime a tree comes down. It's taken us over 20 years to grow our little oasis.L. A. He plans to put in a new higher fence so at least we get our privacy back. We still have our own trees and I'm hoping to plant some tall bamboo/grasses along the fence line to get the more natural look back. Our own garden is still quite natural and wildlife friendly. I have to say, we've seen greenfinches visiting since the trees came down, which we'd never seen before so I guess opening up the garden/removing some trees has been beneficial?
Hoping to have chick pics next week, even if it means posting late!
