It's written by a sixteen year old boy, and it's YA science fiction. Raven reviewed it at my blog back in March or April.

Great interview!Tia Nevitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05489109929908389257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808733415551134993.post-5853499497096150662008-10-01T16:33:00.000-06:002008-10-01T16:33:00.000-06:00Really, YA SciFi has the same problem as SFR- iden...Really, YA SciFi has the same problem as SFR- identity and cohesion as a group. The ironic thing is the publishing industry has created these problems in its effort to reach more readers.Kimber Lihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03982239712083114488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808733415551134993.post-86870096176845330862008-10-01T14:23:00.000-06:002008-10-01T14:23:00.000-06:00Thanks Laurie and Kimber An for a great dialogue a...Thanks Laurie and Kimber An for a great dialogue about YA SF. I think it's an underdeveloped market. Many youth reach for adult SF but frankly--and speaking from experience--some of it is above their heads (shoot, lots of it is above *my* head).

It'd be great for youth to have a bigger selection of age-appropriate SF. Some teens will read above their reading level, but others need prose and concepts crafted in a more accessible way and that matches their comprehension level than adult SF can provide.

Kimber An, I think you are on the cutting edge with your YA SF blog. Best of luck and I look forward to watching it grow.Heather Masseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00913459109753829391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808733415551134993.post-62512919365493149472008-10-01T09:41:00.000-06:002008-10-01T09:41:00.000-06:00Thanks for interviewing me, Laurie. I was truly f...Thanks for interviewing me, Laurie. I was truly flattered.

It somehow slipped my mind that the interview would be posted today. I now realize how convenient it is because I've just launched a new blog, Kimber An's First Chapters. This blog will feature the first chapters of each of the novels I've launched into Queryland so far and all of them are science fiction for young people. In fact, Laurie critted THE STAR CAPTAINS' DAUGHTER for me while I critted DRAXIS for her.

Anyway, pop on over to Kimber An's First Chapters. If you like it and you think it's an okay idea, you might consider setting up your own First Chapters' blog. We could link them together as sort of an aspiring authors' support group on-line. If a Blog-Hopper likes one, she'll automatically have access to all the others.

Here's the link-
kimberansfirstchapters.wordpress.comKimber Lihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03982239712083114488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808733415551134993.post-75150977023318264502008-10-01T07:25:00.000-06:002008-10-01T07:25:00.000-06:00Thanks for your insights Kimber An.
